Aliya was officially initiated into the Rawji’s yesterday. We went out to eat in some dive in Deland and as Aliya drank water from the Styrofoam cup she bit off a piece. This may not seem like a big deal to most, but it is a trait Adam and I inherited from our mom. I have been broken of the habit by Rob, but for years and years none of us was able to drink from a Styrofoam cup with out tearing it to shreds. Literally till no form of a cup remains; we slowly rip it apart piece by piece until all you have left is Styrofoam snow. It is wonderful and so satisfying to do, like finishing a puzzle or a good book as you rip the last piece you feel complete and at the same time long for more. Well Aliya has “gotten the bug” as Rob put it. And we welcome her to our clan!
