My Boy

That face is so cute, slightly mousey and monky-ish all at the same time. I fall in love with him every time I look at him. His hair spikes up just right on top of his head. When he looks up at me I can see how much he loves his mama and how much he needs me for everything. He is completely trusting and tells me that every time he glares into my eyes. This kid is so much like me, I can already tell. He never wants to be by himself and craves the company of those he loves. He sleeps for hours if he is being held but only minutes if left alone. Already he knows his sister and loves her; when she cry’s his lips get pouty and quiver as if he is getting ready to wail, if she stops he does as well. I could smell the crease of his neck, nuzzle into him and get lost for hours.

Did you know-
Kaden can hold up his head already.
He stands up and holds up all body weight...(with help).
His nails grow and lightening speed.
He has the cutest Mongolian spot
His hair is soft as silk
He sleeps all day every day
He acts like he is starving minutes after he has eaten
There is nothing he likes better than to be outside

He gained over a pound and over an inch and a half in less than two weeks
He is the greatest addition to our family

My Girl

My heart feels as if it will burst out of my chest, it just can't contain itself when I see my little girl. She is radiant, her eyes gleam, her smile takes over her face and that laugh, its magical. As a through and through daddy’s girl I feel so lucky that the last two days she has shared herself with me. We rocked, played, laughed, and snuggled last night and for the first time in months when she woke up this morning she called for ‘mommy’. I just can’t get enough of her, even the tantrums and antics.

Did you know-
Ali can put on her own shoes
She answers the questions ‘What’s your name and how old are you’
She sits at the table without a booster seat
She brushes her own teeth every morning and washes her face
She speaks in full sentences using 6- 8 words
Her vocabulary has exploded and is over 1,500 words
Ali loves her baby brother and screams “Kaden crying! Kaden crying!” when he is.
She ran up to me yesterday hugged my knees and said “Mommy, I miss you” and told her teacher at school “I miss Daddy”
She is the love of our lives

Rob, my hero!

Thanks for saving me!

I don’t think there is anything that terrifies me more than a snake. I was giving Aliya breakfast when from the corner of my eye I saw a snake hanging over the couch; except when I actually looked at it it was just the computer cord. “There’s no snake in the house…” I mumbled to myself. After dropping Aliya to school I came in the house put Kaden in his bouncy chair, made a cup of coffee and sat down at the computer to do some work. After accidentally knocking over my coffee I started to walk into the kitchen to grab a towel when much to my chagrin an unexpected, unwelcome and unappreciated visitor sat square in the middle of the entrance to the kitchen. I quickly summoned Rob home to save the day. Meanwhile Kaden is still in his chair only 5 feet from the slithering being. Terrified to startle the snake I was unsure how to get him. Poor kid, first he almost was eaten by a gator and now a snake. I crept up to Kaden slowly and rescued him and once Rob made it home he rescued both of us, and the snake. Rob caught him and released him by the lake across the street from our house. Smart snake dropped of the last few inches of his tail, like a lizard would do, to distract Rob. Cool but creepy. Now I can’t put my feet down without checking every step I take and around every corner. And seriously how weird was my premonition?

Surprise visit!

"We're on our way!" says mom as they leave Orlando to come visit. Alis birthday lingers on as she opens more presents once they arrive. After a late arrival to JK we have a realxing dinner at Bollywood Cafe, where you eat outside under the moonlight sky and twinkle lights and watch indian movies on a large projection screen. Aliya stood in front of the screen and danced with the actors as if she was in the movie herself. MOSI on Sunday capped off the great visit.

Big Sister and her Little Brother

Driving down the road sitting next to her brother, both buckled in their car seats, Ali says "hand, hand!" asking Rob to place Kadens hand in hers. He does and she sits the rest of the ride holding those tiny fingers in her not so much bigger ones.

Ali and Ali

Hillsborough State Park

Sometimes you dont need to write a thing and just let the pictures tell the story.

Chuck-E-Cheese part 2

With the left over tickets and tokens from her birthday we headed to eat pizza and play once more.

Dee-lish!

Stirring, cutting, crumbeling, pouring or even just pushing buttons of the microwave, Ali is totally into cooking. Nana helped Aliya make banana pudding the other night and it was dee-lish!
