In a melodic tune “ its raining, its pouring, nanabapa is snoring” floats around the house as Aliya gently sings the song in response to the massive downpour over our little home. The pool has now overflowed twice and without the sun shining down on it we get very little evaporation to help counter the effects of Mr. Raincloud. He seems to have made a permanent home over ours. As with any gray-sky-rainy-days naps are sure to ensue, but not here, Kaden is extra fussy and misses the warmth of the sun where he is most comfortable. Aliya has ruined two pairs of shoes jumping in puddles so I bought her a pair of rain boots which are monumentally big on her and cause her to walk like she’s on the moon. The thunder roars and lightning cracks so close by I move away from the windows and huddle together with Kaden. I feel a surge on energy wash over my body and my hair stands on end, my heart beats a little faster and feels as if its going to leap put of my chest when an extra loud snap surprises me amongst the rhythmic sound of rain. Rob took me out the other evening, the sky was …pensive… that’s the perfect word; grey and subdued, serious and yet still whimsical, moisture lingering in the air from the rain that had just fallen and it was dusk so a hint of light remained even though its source could not be seen and from this a bright full arc rainbow emerged. Every color vividly and proudly showing itself off. I didn’t have a camera with me but this is a picture from my cell phone.
