Bucs Victory!

Bucs have won a game this 2009 season! We beat the Packers in a hometown game. Rob was finally off for a weekend so we headed to the stadium hoping to score some good tickets. We got great seats in the 200 level, the weather was so perfect, cool and breezy, a perfect day to be outside. Today was a thowback game so the seats were filled with orange and white. Leroy Selmon was inducted into the Ring of Honor today, first inductee ever. The entire 1979 Bucs were present to see him inducted. We turned around in the second half and who was sitting in our section? None other that #63, Leroy Selmon! Very Fun! The giveaway today was old bucs t-shirts! It was so fun going to a game but a winning game was unbelievable! Watching the crowd roar when we scored was awesome. The energy of being at a game is so fun and tense -so different then watching from your living room. Mom Bartlett came over with Wayne to watch the game and Aliya. I think Ali had a wonderful time with Grandma and Grandpa! When we got home dinner was waiting for us, corned beef and cabbage. Yum! What a fantastic day!

  1. Alright. Much of Tampa hated the old orange uniforms. Me, not so much. Every Sunday, even before I liked football, Sundays were all about the orange. From the days we would make a couple dollars parking cars in our apartment complex with my dad to Sundays in high school when I and some of my closest friends I still consider family would all sport our orange and white with pride on Sundays, that color and that uniform marks my memories of Sundays and football and the color itself still makes me happy when I see it. That game was a great throwback for me. A new parent, in a new career with more responsibilities than I think I should have, and a beard with the occasional grey hair, this Sunday was a great trip to easier times for me. The only difference was that at this game, I had the love of my life next to me, a beautiful little girl at home with her loving grandparents, and, oh yeah... they won!
