4 Month Well-Check Appointment

Before shots

After Shots

Aliya had her 4 month appointment last week with Dr. Patel. She was a couple weeks late for it. Everything checked out just fine. Actually, Aliya is advanced for her age! She is rolling over, trying to sit and crawl. 16 lbs 6 oz. 75th% 25 inches 65% and 16.5 in head circumference 65%. I also had a shot (flu) so we have our before and after shot pictures. Also, I finally got Aliya rolling over on video!

Girls Day Out

Mom, Ali and I spent the day together last week. We had a makeover at Lancome and 20% of the $ we spent went to breast cancer research. Eddi, a sweet lady who worked at Lancome played with Aliya for so long. Ali really took to Eddi. Thanks Eddi for watching her!

Rob playing with Ali in the mall-

Hard Rock Casino

Mom came over to babysit and Rob and I headed to Hard Rock Casino. We have wanted to go since they opened but have never had the chance. We had so much fun, I was doing well on the machines but ultimately lost my $5. Can't wait to go again.

Laundry

Aliya was working on her folding skills. I think for now she is better at making sure all the wrinkles set in really good, but she sure does look cute in the basket!

Aliyas First Car Accident

Ali slept right through the our little accident. We were stopped at the light in front of the Bucs stadium and this kid hit me from the back. Wow... I am old, I am calling a licenced driver a kid! It was a bit of a jar but minimal damage to the loaner car we had. The kids car was damaged a lot more. Lucky for us mom was right down the street and Rob was worried so we had a little social gathering right there on the side of the road. The kid said he should get in accidents more often so he can meet people! Accidents are no fun but on the plus side the kids insurance company bought Aliya a new car seat!

Future Buc?

D0 we have a future Buc on our hands. I hope not, maybe a cheerleader instead...hmmm... on second thought, maybe she should stay just a fan!

P.F.Changs

Food was good, service was great, company was the best!

Laughing

Aliya is laughing!! I can't tell you how fun it is to hear her laugh. She still doesn't do it very often yet but when she does its heaven. I can't think of anything in the world that makes me happier.

She got caught!

Aliya got caught stealing this clothespin off the couch. She promptly smiled and stuck it in her mouth!

Rays of Light Exhibit

We took Aliya to see the final Golden Jubilee project celebrating the 50 years of service by the Imam to the Ismaili community. It was a beautiful exhibit with pictures of the Imam from childhood. It also had quotes from previous Imams. The exhibit was created in a dome shape with each "ray" as a different type of service done by the Imam. Architecture, Education, Healthcare, were some of the topics that were shown at the exhibit. We meet Maa and Bapa there. Maa saw some pictures of her family members with Hazar Imam taken in the 50's in the exhibit! After we took in Rays of Light we headed to dinner. Aliya was not very nice to maa and cried every time maa held her. Naughty Naughty! I know this was not good behavior on her part but I was a little happy because it was the first time she showed a preference towards me since she was born. Normally, she will go to anyone but then she only wanted me or Rob. It was like her way of saying "I love you", cheesy, I know but I did feel special. I also felt terrible for maa. She loves Aliya so very much.

Mommy and Baby

Lucky me, I get to be Aliya's mommy! There is nothing I love more on this earth than her.

Adam Mama's Gift

Every night I lay Aliya down partially awake...at least I try to. I really want her to be able to fall asleep on her own, something I still have trouble with to this day. To help her with her transition into lala land Adam Mama's gift comes in very handy. She watches the monkey swing and the bubbles sway the fish back and forth, the soothing blue and yellow lights calm her. She reaches for them as you can see in this picture. Eventually her eyes shut ... 6 nursings and 10 hours later they open to a new day. I love that Adam bought this for her and she loves it so very much. Its probably because she loves her Adam Mama so very much.

FIRST TOOTH!!!

I know, I can't believe it either! Aliya has cut her first tooth! You can see the little white serrated edge that has been causing her so much pain peeking out from her gums!!! I knew she was teething but I really wasn't expecting a tooth to actually pop out! She is at least 2 months early for a tooth. Teeth usually make their debut around 6- 8 months. Poor little girl, no wonder she has been in so much pain and grouchy. Not really grouchy.. she is a sweetheart but you could tell something was bothering her. I tried to get a picture but it was impossible. Taking a picture of something so small in a infants mouth and in focus... not happening! But you can take my word for it, it is there! I have noticed feeding her has been a bit more painful over the last few days and yesterday she was fussing so Rob gave her his knuckle to suck and he noticed something sharp! Viola... Aliya's First Tooth! Now I have to get a baby toothbrush to keep it in all its pearly white glory. Another milestone she had yesterday is pulling on her blue bird hanging from her car-seat. When you pull it it buzzes. It is really cute. She has never pulled it herself before and yesterday she pulled it over and over and over again! It was so cute. We put her in the car again later in the evening and she did it again multiple times! Rob and I were so proud of her! 2 major milestones in 1 day!

Grandma's house and Aliya's First Boat Ride

The boat is finally peeing!! We haven't had a boat ride in a long time because the boat never peed properly and would overheat. Lots of money and time later- it works! Aliya got to take her first boat ride with Captain Dad driving (I mean steering) the boat down the street (I mean channel!) The weather was perfect, sunny and breezy! Mom made the best dinner, Salmon with garlic mashed potatoes and asparagus with hollandaise sauce. Yummy! What a great evening!

Locks of Love

So I did it. I cut 14 inch's off my hair to donate to Locks of Love. I am not trying to take away from my contribution because my goal was to grow my hair and donate it but I hate my excessively short hair. I told the hair dresser chin length but for some reason she cut it ear length. I am happy that someone will get a lot of hair for a wig and that my hair grows so fast, and we will just leave it at that!

Teething

Aliya is always looking for things to stick in her mouth. Rob and I were very impressed she found the teether on her baby gym and was able to pull it down. It is pretty stiff and has a lot of resistance, I guess they don't call it a gym for no reason. Her biceps will be looking like Popeye in no time!

Doorway Jummper

As if Aliya needs more toys we went out and got this doorway jumper. She was still trying to figure it out and then we lifted her up and made a swing for her. She loved the swing. Rob started to twist and turn her. I was impressed she didn't get dizzy. I would've been!
