Kaden's Ped Appointment
Perfect Baby sans the eczema
He is to start on Rx Dermasmooth, Ali was on it for a while too.
Time to start sleep training, yay me!
Okay to feed rice cereal when he seems interested; I'll probably hold of on this for another month or two.
Height- 24.25in; 21%
Weight 13lbs 6oz; 17%
Head Circumference 15.75 in; 5% - but when I measured I had him at 17%, nothing to worry about since he is growing fine and developing great.
Kaden loves to laugh and smile. He talks to you for as long as you'll talk back, especially on the changing table. He is generally a happy and quiet baby
He has found his fingers and is always shoving them in his mouth, sometimes sucking on them and other times chewing them in the few moments he isn't sucking on his pacifier. He is obsessed with that thing and boy does he discriminate, he only wants the MAM brand, all the rest he spits out.
Kaden is very entertained by his big sister, who pushes him on the swing, loves on him, reads to him and plays with him. She can still be a little rough but she really does love her baby brother.
Our strong boy likes to stand up, but hates tummy time. He can't be held enough and somehow manages to sneak in to bed with us every night for the WHOLE night! He is still feeding every few hours at night much to my chagrin. The worst part is he does this weird thing for an hour or two each night where he sleeps but his whole body is super active, kicking and punching away. No big deal unless you are sleeping next to him, which I am. I feel like one of those everlast punching bags they have hanging in the gym. If I move him to his bassinet he cries because he loves to sleep next to his mama. Its something I am working on fixing.
The outdoors are Kadens favorite place to be, no matter how fussy he is if you take him outside he is instantly soothed.
We call him Homer Simpson because of his comb over, Benjamen Franklin because he has some hair that hangs over his ears, Alfalfa because his tuft of hair up front that we normally comb over sometimes sticks straight up, and Jack-Jack (from Incredibles) because that same tuft of hair swirls occasionally and he looks like Jack-Jack from the movie. Maa calls him Iqbal, (a name and also 'Iq- one' 'bal- hair' or one hair). He has one more nickname- Mr. Inconvenient because he tends to get upset/sick/fussy at the WORST possible times. He is slowly outgrowing this name.
So far he has only had one accident, his big sister somehow flipped him out of his swing right onto the floor. Poor kid, I see many more of these types of accidents occurring with Aliya around.
Kaden is the sweetest little baby ever, when I nurse him he looks up at me and his eyes shine wide and sometimes he breaks into a smile. I can see how much he loves me in those eyes. I know he is happy and catch him smiling in his sleep often. Its so fun to watch him grow and change. He isn't scrawny anymore but a healthy filled out baby.
The last 4 months have flown by and he had fully integrated himself in our lives. Can't live without him.
